How to curb juvenile delinquency

Juvenile delinquency has become more serious in recent years. Crime committed by young people has risen since the mid-twentieh century. Youth crime is an aspect of crime which receives great attention from the news media and politicians. ‘Juvenile delinquent’ is someone between 12 and 17 years who through the due process of law and therefore subject to punishments determined by a youth court. Parents, society, and schools should be responsible to curb juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency should be curbed through some measures.

First, juvenile delinquency should be curbed through education. Some parents may say that eduction is not a good way to reduce crimes among teens. They claim that juveniles involved in crimes are influenced by peers. It is true that peer influence is powerful, but education can reduce the influence. That is why moral education is compulsory for every students in our country even for college students. Nowadays, youth adults like to spend their times with friends than to spend their time with family. Through education, teens learn to develop independence in thoughts and behavior. That is, they need not have to feel that they need to belong to any group. Parents play an important role to avoid their children from commit a crime. Importantly, through education young adults learn about the importance of civic-mindedness and civic consciousness. A young adults who is civic consciousness will avoid themselves from commit a crime because they are mature and they know that commit a crime is immorality. Therefore, education is an effective solution to reduce juvenile crimes.

Moreover, the another way to curb juvenile delinquency is providing activities for youth to participate. Every schools and colleges provide many facilities, such as soccer fields, badminton courts and tennis courts.
