Every person possesses certain amounts of certain qualities to be a great leader. Some of those qualities are kindness, willingness and bravery. In Macbeth there are many characters in positions of power that may or may not withhold the qualities of a good leader. The king Duncan in my opinion withheld all the qualities to be a great leader. Macbeth on the other hand at one time had the qualities but then, when put into a position of power turned sour. Not very many people posses the qualities that are needed to be an amazing leader and can keep the qualities in a position of power. There are specific qualities for a good leader such as: honesty, loyalty, determined, motivational, dependable, self-controlled and broad minded, Duncan has all these qualities, although Macbeth does not. Every leader should have a good foundation and a good outlook on what has to be done to be successful. Leaders have to be honest and cannot be bias because a good leader always tells the truth and does what he or she thinks would be the honest decision. They cannot be bias because they have to be able to make decisions without favouring one side of the story and ultimately prosecuting the wrong person or side. A successful leader has to be determined, they have to set out to accomplish a goal and not give up no matter what obstacles may be waiting. Loyalty is another key point to being a superior leader; a leader has to be loyal to his or her country. Beyond those a leader must be caring, motivational and supportive. They have to be self-controlled so that they can make their own decisions and not be influenced by others. The king Duncan was a great leader and shows this through all of his excisions to keep his country out of the gutter. He ran his country very well and when he was in power he had a very successful reign. Duncan moulded his army to fight well and to defend their country.
